Nazbol Olga ShalinaA few figures for the beginning. Now in Strasbourg European human rights court there are 42 claims of members of the National-Bolshevik Party against Russia, against the repressive and unfair decisions, taken by Russian courts.

Now 26 members of the National-Bolshevik Party are in prisons. Altogether 110 members of the NBP have passed through prisons since 1999. I draw your attention to the fact, that arrests and repressive court decisions started in 1999.

Lefortovo prisonWhen Lefortovo is removed from the jurisdiction of the Federal Security Service and placed like all other penitentiary facilities under the Justice Ministry, the legend of the much-feared, high-security prison may finally draw to a close.

At Lefortovo, prisoners suffer extreme isolation, and routine prison regulations are followed to a depressing degree, but this also can make time spent there more tolerable, former inmates say.

“I feel a strange pity for the place. After the FSB gives it away, the super-orderly Lefortovo will turn into a regular, stinking jail,” said writer Eduard Limonov, who spent 15 months in Lefortovo in 2002 and 2003 as the FSB investigated his radical National Bolshevik Party. (more…)

NazbolsRussian lefts grow swiftly younger. Rallying students succeed grandmothers. They are struggling against Putin the “dictator”, unmasking Zuganov the “revisionist” and are waiting for the anticapitalist revolution any day. In order to brighten up the process of waiting they bombard elder politicians with ketchup and mayonnaise.

On the 23d of February Russia’s left radicals are going to carry out the action “Russia without Putin”. Evidently they will not manage to organize a mass rally, their most significant actions have gathered only about 2000 participants so far. Under Yeltsin mass left radical open-airs mainly attracted grandmothers with saucepans. Now - students.
